Perfect World Ice Cream stocked in Tesco
Perfect World Ice Cream, the UK’s first and only no added sugar and dairy free ice cream, expand their mainstream distribution from Holland and Barrett and Ocado, to Tesco stores. The initial roll-out will see ‘A Taste of Carrot Cake’ in the freezers of 69 Tesco Extra stores from 12th February, expanding to 328 stores from mid-March. The 500ml tub will be £4.49, or £3.49 during promotional periods.
“Some ‘free-from’ or health positioned brands have no legally supported health benefits and are often high in sugars and saturated fats; others are expensive, hard to find and not appealing to the mainstream consumer. We’re excited that Tesco has listed the UK’s first truly healthy ice cream, which we have created with the whole family in mind,” says CEO Chris Conklin.
As well as having no added sugars and being dairy free, Perfect World’s products carry a number of EU approved health and nutrition claims, which is unique in the industry. ‘A Taste of Carrot Cake’ has 1.3g of sugar per 100g, is naturally high in vitamin A (53% of GDA in two scoops), high in monounsaturated fat, which helps maintain normal cholesterol levels, and is a natural source of iron, manganese, potassium and dietary fibre. Due to these health and nutrition claims, Perfect World is the only ice cream that can call itself a truly healthy alternative.
